In 2005 there were more new choices for students, like Internet (10%) and CD/DVD (28%). While in the early 1990s there were only tapes (33%) and reference books (67%). At the same time, the average expenditure on English materials has increased from 60 yuan in the early 1990s to 210 yuan in 2005.
